Using the FEDANT Logo
Guidance for Use of the FEDANT Logo for Registrants and Education Providers
Clear, accurate and responsible use
The FEDANT logo is a mark of professional registration, approved course or CPD accreditation. It must be used in a way that allows the public to understand exactly what FEDANT has approved.
Individual Registrants
The requirements for individual registrants apply to all FEDANT Registrants, including Antenatal Educators, Breastfeeding Counsellors, Infant Feeding Practitioners, Doulas, Postnatal Practitioners, CAM Practitioners and Relative Sector Practitioners.
Education Providers
Education providers use a separate FEDANT education provider logo. This logo confirms the accreditation of the exact course or activity and does not give the education provider, its tutors or its students personal FEDANT National Registration.
The key rule
The logo must never be used in a way that creates an ambiguous or misleading impression.
Registrants: Display the logo with the registrant’s five digit National Registration Number and only on the page relating to the exact category or categories shown on their FEDANT National Register entry.
Education Providers: Display the relevant logo with the Education Provider/Course Number and only on the page relating to the exact course that has been granted FEDANT accreditation.
Requirements for Individual Registrants
The FEDANT logo must be used in a way that clearly connects it to the individual registrant and to the precise area of work for which they have been admitted to the National Register.
- Approved service page: Display the logo only on the webpage, profile, leaflet or publicity section that relates directly to your approved register category or categories.
- Required information: Place your full name and five digit National Registration Number beside, or immediately below, the logo.
- Clear wording: Make the scope of your registration immediately clear. A parent or member of the public should not have to search elsewhere to understand what FEDANT has approved.
- Several services: If a page or item promotes both approved and unapproved services, separate them clearly and place the logo only within the section covering the approved service. Do not use the logo in a general header, footer or banner that could appear to cover everything offered.
- No unapproved claims: Do not display the logo or refer to being FEDANT Registered beside a service or professional category that is not shown on your National Register entry.
- Keep details accurate: Check that every registration statement matches your current National Register entry and update or remove it promptly if your entry changes.
- Personal use only: FEDANT registration belongs to the individual registrant. The logo and registration status cannot be transferred to a colleague, employee, business partner, company or subcontractor.
Examples of Clear and Ambiguous Logo Use
If FEDANT has not granted admission for an area of practice
You must not use the logo, the words “FEDANT Registered” or any similar statement in a way that suggests FEDANT has approved that area. This applies whether the category was not applied for, remains under assessment, or admission was not granted.
This statement is displayed on the antenatal education service page where Antenatal Educator is the approved register category.
Group Practices, Companies and Shared Websites
A FEDANT logo may be displayed generally for a practice or company only where every professional holds current FEDANT National Registration for the services they provide.
If this is not the case, the logo must be limited to the individual registrant’s profile and the specific approved service page. Each registrant’s name, five digit National Registration Number and approved category or categories must be shown clearly.
A company or practice must not describe itself as “FEDANT Registered” merely because one person within it is registered.
Requirements for Education Providers
- Use the relevant FEDANT education provider logo only on the page and materials for the specific course holding current FEDANT NCAV, NRSA or CPD accreditation.
- State the full name of the accredited course or CPD activity and the applicable Education Provider/Course Number.
- Do not position the logo so that it appears to approve every course or CPD activity offered by the provider.
- Do not describe the education provider itself as FEDANT registered. Course accreditation and individual National Registration are separate.
How the Logo Must Be Presented
- Use only an official logo file supplied or authorised by FEDANT.
- Do not alter the colours, wording, proportions or arrangement of the logo.
- Do not crop, stretch, distort or add elements to the logo.
- Do not incorporate the logo into another organisation’s logo or use it as a business name.
- Keep sufficient clear space around the logo so that it remains legible.
- Where practical online, link the logo or Education statement to the relevant FEDANT Accredited Course and Service Providers page for verification.
When Use Must Stop
The logo and any reference to being FEDANT Registered must be removed promptly if registration or accreditation lapses, expires, is suspended, withdrawn or removed. Former registrants and former accredited providers must not use outdated materials in a way that suggests current status.
Monitoring and Misuse
FEDANT may monitor websites, social media and publicity materials to help protect parents, families, registrants and the integrity of the National Register. If use is inaccurate, ambiguous or unauthorised, FEDANT may require it to be corrected or removed and may take further appropriate enforcement action.
