Your qualification and your registration have different roles. Your accredited award demonstrates the education you have successfully completed. Professional registration provides an ongoing, independently checkable record of your professional status and commitment to FEDANT requirements.

FEDANT and Professional Regulation

FEDANT maintains professional standards for those working across the antenatal and postnatal sector outside statutory provision. Registrants agree to follow the FEDANT Code of Ethics and Practice and meet ongoing professional responsibilities.

The National Register includes Antenatal Educators, Doulas, Breastfeeding Counsellors, Infant Feeding Practitioners and Postnatal Practitioners.

The FEDANT National Register

The National Register gives parents, families, employers and commissioning bodies a clear way to find a professional or check an individual’s registration status.

Admission is separate from course completion. Applicants must meet the requirements for their registration category and provide the supporting evidence requested by FEDANT.

How to Apply for Admission

  1. Choose the registration category that reflects your qualification and intended practice.
  2. Complete the online Application for Admission to the National Register.
  3. Provide evidence of your accredited award and appropriate professional insurance.
  4. Following successful validation, your registration details will be added to the National Register.
