Checking a FEDANT Registration
A few simple checks can help you confirm that the person offering your antenatal education or related service appears on the FEDANT National Register.
Four Simple Checks
Ask for the Registration Number
A FEDANT Registrant should be willing and able to provide their five digit National Register entry number.
Check It on the FEDANT Website
Enter the number into the official registration checker and confirm that the result relates to the person you are considering.
Check the Details
Make sure the name and other information displayed are consistent with the individual, website or course materials you have been given.
Look for Consistent Information
The FEDANT logo and registration number will often appear on a Registrant’s website, social media or promotional materials.

This is the current version most parents are likely to see.
Previous FEDANT Logo
This version may still appear on older websites, certificates or promotional materials.
Earlier FEDANT Logo
This historic version may appear on older documents and publicity.
International Registrants
FEDANT welcomes suitably qualified professionals who live and practise outside the United Kingdom.
International Registrants are identified by (OS) next to their National Register entry. This shows that the Registrant is based outside the United Kingdom; it does not indicate a different category or lower standard of FEDANT Registration.
International Registrants agree to follow the FEDANT Code of Ethics and Practice and meet the legal, regulatory and insurance requirements that apply in the country where they practise.
When Checking an International Registrant, Confirm That:
- Their name matches the person or business you are considering.
- Their approved registration categories cover the service being offered.
- Their contact and location details are consistent.
- They hold any local licence, registration or insurance required in their country of practice.
FEDANT Registration does not replace local legal or professional requirements.
Check Carefully if Something Does Not Look Right
- The person will not provide a five digit registration number.
- The number does not produce the expected registration entry.
- The name or details do not appear to match.
- A FEDANT logo is being displayed but registration cannot be verified.

Use the official FEDANT website because promotional material can become outdated.
Other Professional Titles
If someone also describes themselves as a regulated healthcare professional, you may wish to check the relevant statutory professional register separately.
Ask Questions Before Booking
You can ask about course content, qualifications, experience, fees, cancellation arrangements and how your information will be handled.
