FEDANT supports accredited education providers with practical guidance, resources and access to the Education Committee Support Team when you need advice regarding your accredited course. You can access accreditation logos, website and publicity guidance, guidance documents and learner resources through the Education and Service Provider Resources.
Accredited education providers also receive regular Registrant News Briefings and urgent notifications of relevant legislative or regulatory changes.

Accreditation Applies to the Exact Course
Accreditation does not automatically apply to every course offered by an education provider. The FEDANT education provider logo, accreditation wording and Education Provider/Course Number must be used only in connection with the exact course holding current accreditation.
An education provider should be able to give prospective students its current FEDANT Education Provider/Course Number. Students can use this number to confirm that provider and course appear on FEDANT’s current accredited provider list.
Maintaining Accreditation
Accreditation must remain current and is subject to continuing quality review to confirm that the approved course continues to operate within the applicable requirements and agreed parameters.
Keep Information Current
Providers should notify FEDANT of relevant changes to course ownership, staffing, structure, content, assessment or delivery. Keeping contact details up to date also helps FEDANT reach the right person and provide guidance about relevant changes.
Describe Approval Accurately
Advertising must identify the exact accredited course and must not imply that unaccredited courses, services or individuals hold FEDANT approval. Use current accreditation details consistently.

A Clearer Route for your Students and Graduates Into Professional Practice
Verified Course Status
Students can check the exact course title and FEDANT Education Provider/Course Number before enrolling or making payment.
Appropriate Course Content
Accreditation provides assurance that the submitted course has been assessed against the applicable educational, safety and professional requirements.
Student Insurance
Eligible students on an applicable accredited course may be able to access the reduced rate FEDANT Block Scheme Insurance for students, subject to FEDANT and the insurer’s eligibility requirements. Insurance is arranged after application request has been reviewed. Students remain responsible for ensuring that suitable cover is in place for the activities they undertake during training and that their insurance remains current.
National Register Entry and Personal Registration
Graduates from a current FEDANT accredited entry course are considered to meet the educational and safety requirements for the corresponding FEDANT National Register category, subject to satisfying all other admission requirements. After qualifying, the individual must apply separately for personal admission to the FEDANT National Register. Registration is granted only for the category or categories supported by accepted qualifications and evidence.
Practitioner Insurance
Where eligible, graduates who attain FEDANT National Registration may apply for reduced rate FEDANT Block Scheme Insurance.
Supporting graduates beyond qualification
Accredited education providers play an important role in preparing graduates for professional practice and admission to the FEDANT National Register. Graduates may remain employed by, affiliated with or members of the company or organisation through which they trained, should they so wish, while also holding their own FEDANT National Registration. However, once registration is granted, it is personal to the individual, is maintained directly with FEDANT and is not conditional on maintaining any employment, membership, franchise or other relationship with that company or organisation.
This distinction supports both the provider and the graduate. The provider’s accreditation continues to demonstrate the quality and standing of the approved course, while the graduate benefits from an independent and verifiable professional status that can continue throughout their career.
FEDANT Accreditation Routes
National Course Accreditation and Verification
For applicable entry courses designed to prepare learners for a corresponding category of the FEDANT National Register.
National Relative Sector Award
For relevant courses and awards connected with professional practice in the wider antenatal and postnatal sector.
Continuing Professional Development
For learning activities intended to support ongoing knowledge and competence. CPD does not itself extend a registrant’s approved National Register category.
Course Accreditation and Personal Registration Are Different
Completing an accredited course does not itself make a graduate FEDANT registered. The individual must apply separately for admission to the FEDANT National Register and meet the registration, evidence, insurance and safety requirements in force at the time of application.
Course accreditation relates to the education provider and exact course. National Registration relates to the individual practitioner and the exact category or categories for which FEDANT has granted admission.
