Student Admission

Student Admission

Professional support while you train

Student Admission is available to eligible learners who are currently completing a recognised profession entry award in an area accepted by FEDANT. It provides a supported connection with FEDANT during training and helps learners understand the professional standards, evidence and insurance requirements that apply when they become qualified and apply for full admission to the FEDANT National Register.

Who Can Apply?

Student Admission is open to individuals studying a profession entry award in:

Antenatal EducationBreastfeeding CounsellingInfant Feeding PracticeDoula PracticePostnatal PracticeComplementary Therapy Practice (CAM)Eligible Relative Sector Awards

Eligibility for a Relative Sector Award is subject to the exact course’s current FEDANT accreditation status. Check the course’s published status before applying.

Already Qualified in a FEDANT Category?

If you already hold a professional award in any FEDANT registration category, you should not apply solely as a student. Apply for full FEDANT National Registration for the award you already hold.

If you use the FEDANT Block Scheme Insurance as part of your full registration and begin training in an additional area, you may be entitled to add appropriate student cover for that course. Check the current insurance requirements before relying on cover.

Using FEDANT Student Status Accurately

Describe yourself clearly as a student and do not imply that you are fully qualified or hold full FEDANT National Registration in the area being studied. Work only within the limits of your training, supervision, competence and insurance.

When You Complete Your Studies

As soon as you graduate, email a clear copy of your qualification or award to . A clear, readable image taken on a smartphone is acceptable.

Update Your Registration

FEDANT will review the award and, where the requirements are satisfied, upgrade you to the appropriate registration category and add the approved category to the FEDANT National Register.

Upgrade Your Insurance

FEDANT Student Insurance ceases to provide cover when you graduate. Once you have graduated and FEDANT has approved your award, you will be eligible to upgrade to full practitioner cover. This upgrade must be completed before you undertake any qualified practice.

Complete Both Steps

Your registration status and insurance must be updated together. If full insurance is arranged without updating your FEDANT registration status, the insurance may be cancelled.

Important: Do not rely on student insurance after graduation. Wait until your registration category has been updated and appropriate full insurance cover has been confirmed before practising as a qualified professional.
